Multiple Sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disorder where the immune system attacks the protective myelin sheath covering nerve fibers, leading to communication problems between the brain and body. Symptoms vary but include fatigue, vision problems, muscle weakness, difficulty walking, numbness, and coordination issues. MS can be relapsing-remitting (with flare-ups and recovery) or progressive. The exact cause is unknown, but genetic and environmental factors play a role. Treatment includes immunomodulatory drugs, corticosteroids for flare-ups, physical therapy, and supportive care to manage symptoms.
