Repetitive stress injuries (RSIs), also called overuse injuries, occur due to prolonged repetitive movements, leading to tissue inflammation and damage. Examples include Tennis Elbow (lateral epicondylitis), where excessive wrist and arm use inflames forearm tendons, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, caused by compression of the median nerve in the wrist, leading to numbness and weakness. Overuse injuries result from improper techniques, lack of rest, or excessive strain. Symptoms include pain, swelling, stiffness, and weakness. Treatment involves rest, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and ergonomic adjustments to prevent recurrence.
